What we do
Wellness in Mind provides information, advice and support for anyone in Nottingham experiencing issues with their mental wellbeing. The service will help people understand mental health issues, and connect people to the services which may best support them.
By providing an open, non-stigmatising, positive and hopeful service, people will be able to address issues before they become problems, and find the right service for them, which meets their support needs.
Wellness in Mind is a service for every community in Nottingham and can help the family, friends and carers of people with mental health issues.
How the service works
Wellness in Mind operates an open door policy and welcomes anyone who is a Nottingham city resident to access the service.
Wellness in Mind is open to anyone who wants to find out more about mental health and how to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The service will strive to remove any barriers which may prevent or inhibit someone from finding out more information. It will begin to take steps to support people to improve their mental health and wellbeing, prevent issues becoming problems and to find the right support to meet their needs.
Who the service is aimed at
This is a service for everybody in Nottingham city from people who may want to find out more about mental health for themselves, for friends, family members, or members of their community.
Wellness in Mind will also receive referrals from GPs and other services for people who may need to access other sources of support.
The service will be a key link between people and the sources of support in the community, which will help those services work better together.
What happens next
Sometimes finding out more information can be enough to help put your mind at rest and get reassurance about what you’re thinking and feeling. Wellness in Mind can direct you to more detailed and in-depth information on other national websites and ways in which you can help yourself.
It’s also common to want to talk to someone face to face in order to gain a more detailed understanding of your issues, and to decide whether you need more support. Wellness in Mind will be able to direct you to other services, groups and activities which may be helpful to your well-being.
We can also conduct a more thorough assessment and make a more specific referral to a specialist service on your behalf.
